(Recognizing the jolt.)
Euphoria Punctured Then
Horrific, heinous, panic, dread,
Too many monikers for fear;
Hands tied… and not free to act,
Trapped… leaves defenses sheer
I’m weak, hollow, depleted now,
As fears’ result always a price;
But prayer, occasionally free,
I guess it worked and did suffice
Looking back, tedious torture,
Those fears not at all contrived;
But it’s over now, ran the course,
I’m ecstatic, the end’s arrived
Pain dissipation, triumph… but wait!
My calm and euphoria punctured then;
Deja vu-like, recognizing the jolt,
As, tomorrow it starts all over again
