Nothing
She was impeccable
in both body and mind,
she was also sweet in manner
and was unselfishly kind
We were what we looked for,
a million-in-one chance,
we knew it right away
and started our romance
She was a girl and a woman,
both, in every way,
my love, her love, our love,
synergistic and stronger each day
We’d plot and plan our future,
and map out what we sought,
we hoped for our child,
that, perhaps, God might wrought
Then the three of us together,
battled to find a thaw,
when that winter came and stayed,
and the insulation turned raw
All this that I’ve just said,
is not now but yesterday,
as they are here no more,
and have been taken away
